REVIEW: The Retired Millionaire

Hey there !


The question for the day is:

"Can you have your cake and eat it too?"
(When it comes to internet marketing).


The reason I ask this question is because I get emails from people asking me for that 'all in one solution'...that one 'scheme to make them rich'.

The thing is...there is no all in one solution.

See, these types of opportunities are usually called 'turnkey opportunities', and I used to invest in them.

I used to frequently peruse Ebay's listings under 'Websites/Business for sale' and look for a turnkey opportunity that I could just set it and forget it.


I used to buy Adsense sites, dating sites, ebook sites, you name it, I probably bought it from Ebay. But did they work?

Well, in a nutshell...NO.

I still have ALL the scripts and website templates for these turnkey businesses, but none of the sites are up. Out of all of them, the only one I'd restart would be a dating site. I'm totally into the dating niche (even though I'm taken). I like going out there and giving lame-o's advice on how to pick up girls. I used to be the Donkey Kong of pimpin' back in the day, before I met my fiancee.

But anyway...

There are a lot of people out there trying to sell you something as being the 'end all, be all' of your financial struggles. Remember a few weeks back I talked about selling the opportunity rather than investing in it? I gave a little anecdote about the San Francisco Gold Rush of 1849...and how the only people who profited from that were the ones who sold the shovels to those money-crazed fools to dig for gold.

Well, think about that my friend...and how people are quick to sell you a turnkey opportunity instead of actually participating in it.


Which brings me to my next point.


See, there's a website out there getting a lot of online press in online world called 'The Retired Millionaire'. The idea behind this website is that there's some guy who has retired from the internet, and is leaving behind all of his secrets and tools of the trade for anyone with $47 in their pocket.

Of course, to people like you and me who have been duped by every money making product...this looks like your run-of-the-mill 'get rich quick' website, a la 'The Rich Jerk' or 'Ultimate Wealth Package'.

(Yes, I was dumb enough to buy both of those, but I don't regret it)


Here's the thing...I haven't purchased this product, because I know what it entails...

See, I'm on Todd Gross' mailing list for freemonthlygift.com, and I'm an active reader. I even had the pleasure of working with him, and having a good friendship with him online.

Well, he promoted this to his list, and got a lot of feedback from it which really caught my attention.

Supposedly...

The actual product itself looks like it was a rush job, and that there were minor problems when you tried to view a website or two. But other than that, the content is pretty good...and there's a lot to digest.

So, if you were to undertake this one, personally dedicate some time for you to read, re-read and take notes.

Also, the real 'gem' of this product is the 11,000 Private Label articles that's included. You know, with Private Label material you can legally plagiarize it, and call it your own... I love Private Label stuff, personally.

There was also a mention of some turnkey websites. Remember what I told you about turnkey websites...sell the opportunity, don't invest in it.

There's 200 turnkey websites included. I personally have 50 myself. But the key with these sites, is to do the following:

1) Get some cheap Reseller hosting from Ebay or Hostgator (tmharris.net/hostgator)

2) Sell the turnkey opportunity of your choice on ebay for cheap

3) After the sale, get them into a monthly subscription for the website via Paypal like ($3.99/month)

4) Go into your reseller's panel, create their account, and load the script onto their account, since you have their password

5) Give them their login details, and let them be in charge of buying a domain name.


You'll earn recurring income this way...Pretty cool, huh?


But, you need turnkey sites to do this with, and The Retired Millionaire has 200 of these sites ready for you to do business.

There's also 900 Tutorials you can sell, and some 200 Products that come with Master Resale Rights.


Now, this sounds like a business-in-a-box. And that's pretty much what it is. If I were to invest in it, I'd just utilize all the stuff and flip turnkey sites on ebay, and resell the Master Resale stuff.

So, what's my final say on this?

'The Retired Millionaire', is not for newbies, unless you really dedicate some time to really sit down and study the informational guide. Plus, with the added sources for you to profit from, you should come out fine if you get this.


You're probably wondering why I didn't buy it.


Well...I pretty much have everything that they speak of. Of course, I could definitely use the 11,000 PLR articles, but I have 3,000+ already on my other PC.

I could use the turnkey websites and flip website businesses with them, but I already have 50 of my own that I have to try and sell.

I could use the 200 Master Resale Rights products...but I have thousands sitting in 'digital limbo' back in the office.

I could use the 900 tutorials...well, I could use the 900 tutorials to be quite honest. haha But it's only something else you can sell off. Me, I have tutorials that I've produced myself, and you'll be introduced to in the weeks to come. But 900? Damn, that's a lot!

2) Blogging With a New Twist

One of the easiest ways to make money online is to own and properly maintain a topic-related blog. Of course, you're always told that Blogger.com and Wordpress are the two most popular formats for accomplishing this. I personally own blogs with Blogger.com and Wordpress.

But, my good friend, Garrie Wilson has just released a guide all about how to properly set up, operate and maintain a profitable Wordpress blog.

Crazy enough, in the guide she laid some details on me about why she chose Wordpress over Blogger.com, and how it could effect your income severely. Like I said, I use both Blogger.com and Wordpress...and as a matter of fact, THIS blog is hosted on Blogger.com. But after reading this report, I'll be putting in tons more time with my Wordpress blogs...for reasons that are explained in this report.

It's a must-read, and a very affordable solution for anyone who's serious about blogging for profit. Crazy enough, some of the information in this guide is not even mentioned in the infamous 'Blogging to the Bank' by Rob Benwell. Seriously, I swear by Rob's book, and I still re-read it every now and then to refresh my memory. But Garrie really hits home with why she approaches blogs differently than Rob does.

Plus, Garrie offers a huge list of resources that are sure to bring TONS of traffic to your blog...no matter what topic your blog is about. Not only that, but she also provides you more than just a simple PDF to read. She even supplies you with a high-quality 'video edition' to her guide...so that you don't get bored and lose focus like you would with boring PDFs.

3) A Hard Working Man Tries to Break into the Game

Well, the other day, I was conversing with a new face online, named Nelson Minica. I had caught a whiff of his firesale that he's got going on, and if you know me, I had to check it out. I'm the firesale king! So I gotta scope out my competition.

Since I had heard about his firesale from a friend of mine, I visited his site not as a skeptic, but rather as a friend. I ended up getting a hold of him, and found out that he's just like you...an honest family man trying to provide for his family using the internet. Being armed with the knowledge of a thousand gurus, he decided to launch his very first firesale.

The theme is based around the new year...and his offer is supposed to be something that'll make your new year's resolutions get accomplished.

The cool thing is, he's literally offering hundreds of products that come with Master Resale Rights, so that you can do as you please with them (except plagiarize). I respect his hustle, as I know what it's like to try to break into the internet marketing industry and be successful. It took me two years before I saw my first taste of success online...so I'm fully aware of the struggle.

4) Can Buying Leads and Mailing Lists Be a Good Thing?

I was asked this question by one of my subscribers, and my answer to him was YES and NO. The thing is, there are people online who purchase leads and mailing lists for the sole purpose of promoting things to them via email or direct mail. The problem is, there's a right way to do it, and a wrong way.

If you do it the wrong way, you can end up losing a ton of money, receive a ton of SPAM complaints, and even has your ISP (Internet Service Provider) strip you of all your online privileges, capabilities and services (plus, you'll get 'blacklisted' when you try to get service with someone else).

If you do it the right way, you can actually have other people pay for your leads and mailing lists, and you'll be able to profit big time. I know in one example, I knew someone who built a mailing list of thousands of people over the past year, by buying leads. The cool thing was, he used other people's money to buy these leads, and he never had to pay them back.

The idea amazed me, and it inspired me to start writing a nice, short report on the topic of what he did, and how he got other people to buy his leads, without having to pay them back.

I'm almost done with the report, and I'll be releasing it to the public next week or this weekend...depends on how I feel. But more than likely, this report will be more of a lead-in for my membership site, when it launches in late February/early March.

Of course, when I released the guide, I'll let a few people have it for free using 'digital coupons' like I did with my last firesale.

My Goof Up, Software That Makes Ebooks & Free Paypal Tips

Happy new year to you, my reader! I know I'm all late and wrong, but yesterday, I was trying to shake a hangover while dealing with my son getting his 2nd tooth. So he's been a screaming machine with all the teething going on. Honestly, I haven't gotten any sleep at all the past few days.

I got an email today from someone who saw my email talking about my firesale on monday to end out the year. There was something I did not realize when I went live with my sale...

I know people worldwide...so when I emailed them at noon over here in the US, in some parts it was almost 2008 for them. lol

And by the time they got back from celebrating the new year, they saw my email...and couldn't order because the sale had expired.

Now I feel like a dork... :(

Oh, I also came across a good resource for those who are really interested in writing and publishing professional looking ebooks like mine. The one thing that I can't stand is when I shell out a little m.oney on an ebook, and it looks horrible and half-heartedly written.

Well, Sean Tan created a piece of software called eWriter Pro that assists you in writing and publishing your own ebooks, so that they actually look presentable.

If your ebook doesn't look very appealing to your customer or email subscriber...guess what's going to happen?

Unsubscribes and refunds!


Now, is that something you want, especially knowing that you put in so much time, effort, research and hard work on your ebook? If you have a brain, then you know the answer is NO.


So, I advise that you use this piece of software so that your ebooks are up to par...if this is the sorta thing you're into.

Remember, this is not some tired ebook on 'ebook creation'. This is an actually piece of software for Windows that does the job for you. And for the record, YES it's compatible with Windows Vista. Trust, I have to check to make sure everything I get now is compatible with Vista since I got my new laptop.

Oh, one more thing...there's a report that's currently being sold all over the internet about using Paypal as a seller and a buyer.

The report goes over how to deal with Paypal when they give you any problems and try to freeze your account.

You don't need this report. I'll give you a few quick tips and such, right now.

1) If you're expecting a ton of new sales to your website due to a website launch or because of a new JV partner, it's best to contact Paypal ahead of time, talk to customer service, and let them know that you're expecting a ton of sales today because of 'business arrangements' you made with business partners.

This way, when Paypal notices thousands of dollars popping up in your account out of the blue...they won't get suspicious and freeze your account to investigate.


2) Before you do any purchases online, check the status of the seller to make sure they are 'Verified'. Also, if possible, do a Google search on the seller to make sure there's no bad feedback
about him/her.

If Paypal has been receiving multiple complaints about a particular seller, and you send them funds for a purchase, Paypal will freeze your account, because they suspect you're in cohoots with them. Weird, huh? You're the one possibly getting scammed, and Paypal freezes YOUR account.

It's something we have to deal with, my friend. So just use diligence before sending anyone money with Paypal. Basically do a 'PayPal Background Check' on them haha.


3) If you decide to promote one of these infamous $7 Offers...check out the page in its entirety before you promote it. If their page has a message at the bottom talking about "reselling it for 100% commission after you buy" or something similar to that...don't promote it.

Paypal is not a big fan of these $7 products, because 90% of the people who use the '$7 Secrets Script' use the same tired template, which states the whole 100% commission thing on it. Paypal will instantly suspect any website who has this as trying to run a M.L.M or some other type of vicious scam...and they will attempt to freeze your account's funds and activities.

I know this actually happened to Jon Leger, the guy who created the $7 Secrets Script that originally caused all the Paypal hooplah. Paypal froze his account until he cleared it all up. That was when he made a post on 7dollarforum.com and told everyone to exclude that line about 100% commissions from their sales page.

If you notice, I only promote $7 products that don't have that note at the bottom of the sales page. Trust, I'm not trying to have my Paypal account frozen for any reason...so you won't catch me messing with these sites.
