Today's post is based on something that comes to attention just about every single day. Some people who know me personally may be offended...but it's tough love.
I talk to several people daily. All with different types of conversations...most business related. I get asked to review products, review websites, blogs, promotions, etc. Most of these people are new to the idea of using the internet to market and promote their product/service.
But all in all...nine out of ten people I come in contact with are not seeing any income from their efforts. And the main reason that I see is this...
Website blunders. Point blank. But it might not be your fault...
I realize that we are only human, and some of us are not computer-savvy. That's understandable. But when it comes to your bread and butter, your website, wouldn't you think you would want to put in a little more time and effort into it?
I mean, your website is what you want to bring you the moolah, right?Well, we gotta treat it like an art sculpture, and make it appealing even to the naked eye so that people can see it. Look at your own website if you will. There are subtle changes you can do to your website that can change it's overall appearance and possibly bring you more sales, commissions, leads, whatever.
Sometimes, it's not the actual sales letter on your site. It can be organized the right way, and still there can be little blunders on your site that you aren't aware of, that are actually killing your business...sad to say, but it's the truth.
Recently, I took a look at some of my old websites that have failed for me. I got about 12 of them, sadly :)
There were little things that I realized a year or two later, that made me go WOW. Now that I know what I know now about your site's appearance...I look at my previous work and think about fixing them up, and re-releasing them again.
But, like I said before...you might not be computer-savvy to actually touch up your own site. And like I said, it's understandable. But if I could show you how easy it is to do, regardless of your own situation...would you do it? Seriously...would you take action and actually do it?
By now, you should be saying YES, since you probably want to start actually making some money from your website. If not, then what can I say? You must be happy with what your website is producing, and for what it's worth...congratulations. We should JV sometime.

Listen, I wanted to reinforce something with you, especially if you plan on creating ebooks for profit.
If you're going to sell an ebook for profit, you need a website. If you have a website, you need traffic to get it going.
And to get traffic to your site, for free...basically, get Joint Venture partners. I know I've said it before, but honestly, it's the cold hard truth, friend.
It's been the backbone of my online business, and the first thing that actually brought me any real income besides Ebay.

But I had contacted hundreds of people, and only 2 wanted to work with me. Come to find out, I didn't have the right 'mindframe' when I was going into JV deals.
I had got lucky with these two JV partners, because they were eager to JV with me as well...especially since my product was new and fresh.
But I came across someone who really hit the nail on the head and showed me the right frame of mind, and the right plan to attract JV partners...and it worked.
But there even more strategies, and even more ways and methods towards getting into a potential JV partner's mind, and getting him/her to cooperate and partner with you.
Once you've learned them, you'll be getting free traffic to your website on command, for life. Trust me. Every time I've ever launched a product since my first taste of success, has been done with my JV partners.
It's free traffic, it's there for life too...as long as you treat your partners right.
But before I part, I wanted to tell you something. The writer of the article I mentioned is definitely somebody I approach for advice on JVs, even to this day! Reed Floren is a Godsend to me.

And these guys are really counting on the fact that you won't succeed. Why? because then they'll be able to pitch another product on you that'll make the whole 'make money experience' work a lot smoother. Usually it's a piece of software, or a service that their support team provides.
The fact of the matter is, they purposely overload you with content. What happens when you reach information overload? You get confused. You don't know where to start. And in the end, since you're so frazzled, you do nothing and call it a 'scam' or a 'bunch of crap'.
Then they come out with the high-ticket 'automated solution', and you're all over it like white on rice. In a sense, it seems so cruel and so greedy of these marketers to do this purposely to you. But, the fact of the matter is still the same...it's strictly business. It's all planned out days, weeks, months, even YEARS before they even offer a thing to you. It's a part of their business plan.
They know they want to get a specific amount of money from you, but they know that you're not going to shell out a bunch of money to a stranger. That's why they have the introductory product, then the 'back end' products. The intro product is to get you to trust them, and respect their knowledge. All at the same time, it gets you confused as hell, yet you still trust the guy.
Once they have your trust, they pitch the 'automated solutions' and get the rest of the money from you that they planned to take all along.
I know you're not dumb, and I'm sure you've already figured this out. I figured it out a long time ago myself before I started seeing success.
So, how do people actually see success from the products they buy? Easy...it all comes down to the way they focus and pace themselves. They focus on what they want to learn, and then pace themselves to learn it all piece by piece until they fully understand it, and know it like the back of their hand.
I'll give you a good analogy to think about...
Imagine back to when you were in grade school. They taught you on a day-by-day basis. They did it because, their goal is for you to learn the material so you can graduate and get out of their school. In the end, you spend 9-10 months in school. But when it's all said and done, you've learned something, and you remember it.
Now imagine if that same teacher decided not to teach you on a day to day basis. Imagine he/she just gave you a book, told you that the final test is in 9 months, and then never heard from them again.
Do you think you would graduate? NO. It's impossible. We need the teacher to break down the course into segments so that we can learn every little bit, piece by piece. We need the teacher to spell it all out for us, day by day. Why? because we don't know where to start!
So, do you really think that by purchasing an entire home study course or an entire slew of ebooks, that you'll learn what you need to? Only if you truly pace yourself, and have someone show you where to start.
In the 'make money online' niche, you're not going to find a single person who's willing to take it easy, and pace their learning. They want money NOW. There's no beating around the bush on that. People enter this niche, because they want money, and they don't want to wait for it another second. That's totally understandable, and I don't hate on them for that.
But it's that mentality that ensures that a vast majority of newcomers will not succeed. You have to pace yourself; you need guidance, examples and direction. And you can't get that from purchasing an entire informational package. And in the 'make money online' niche, the packages aren't going to give you that; and the customers of these packages aren't willing to sit and wait to pace their learning. They not willing to be patient to accept guidance and direction.
This is the ultimate formula for failure in the 'make money online' niche...sad to say. And the only people who are going to make off like bandits are the ones providing these massive informational packages.
Now you know why YOU haven't succeeded online yet. Seriously, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!
Even when people say it's because 'you're not taking action'...it's only partially true. But how can you take action, when you don't have to knowledge to take action with??? You've been so overloaded with content, that you don't absorb the knowledge like you should.
It's like the information's being thrown in your lap, instead of being delivered to you at a paced rate.

Last week, prior to me taking a hiatus to care for my loved ones, I told you how I wanted to take it easy on what I do online. I feel that I think it's better for me to talk to people one on one so that I can individually solve their problems and assist them the best way I can.
But there is a drawback to this...being swamped with emails for every little thing from customer service, to comments, to assistance to job requests, to JVs to everything. Call me a fool for not outsourcing this work to others, but I am my father's child...

That's the way my dad's held on to his wealth, and honestly in my eyes, I think it's an excellent way to think. I don't wanna cut corners or anything, but why spend a dollar when you can work hard yourself, and truly feel the sense of EARNING something. Call me crazy if you will, but that's what it is.

Hell, in the U.S., the economy is so bad, that the President is pushing Congress to pass a bill to hand out $800 to every working adult in the nation...with hopes that we'll take that $800 and immediately spend it. They think that this will 'spark' the economy once again.
In my mind, it's going to backfire, and everyone is going to use that money and put it towards paying off their high amounts of debt amassed from the credit and housing crisis here in the U.S.
Now, I know I have friends and students who come from other countries like the UK, Canada, Singapore, Netherlands, EVERYWHERE. That fact is, even though they're not suffering from the problems the U.S. is going through, they might have their own personal problems. And the fact is, these personal problems are the reason why the U.S. is in so much financial trouble.
The personal problems, lead to the abuse of credit cards, and the abuse of home equity and other loans.
Personal problems lead people to dig themselves further in debt looking towards internet marketing as a way to dig themselves out of the crisis.

1) Getting an autoresponder. 2) Traffic 3) Getting them to actually sign up
Now, getting an autoresponder is easy. If you already have your own website (besides a blog from blogger.com or wordpress.com or myspace.com), you can get a free reputable autoresponder from phplist.com It's freeware. Otherwise, there's always Aweber or Prosender or Getresponse which you can pay $20 for.
Getting traffic is also easy. I have a list of 75 Online Classified Ad websites you can post an ad for your squeeze page/opt-in page.

You can also use traffic exchanges like ts25.com to get traffic for free.
Now getting them to signup is the harder part. I did find a tool for $7 that allows you to do the following with your squeeze pages:
* Limit the number of subscribers. * Limit the amount of time, they're allowed to subscribe.
These two reasons alone can build your list quick, because you create a sense of urgency for someone to sign up. With most squeeze pages, everything is free so they can get your to signup. Free stuff is deemed less valuable in our thoughts...and by creating a sense of urgency, you're immediately adding value to your offer.
You can also:
* Get real-time reporting of traffic for your squeeze page campaigns * Track keywords from Google, Yahoo and MSN that bring you traffic * Get real-time conversion ratios between different campaigns that you run.
In the end, you really get three squeeze page tools in one, that'll help you build and properly manage your mailing lists.
Like I said, it's only $7 and probably the best thing you could ever get if you want to build a mailing list quickly.
Everything else I've mentioned is free: getting an autoresponder and getting traffic. So for $7, I think that this tool is worth every single one of the 700 pennies they're asking for...especially when the main features of this tool is to build a list QUICKLY.
It literally took me a year to finally get 1000 subscribers to my mailing list. Don't let this happen to you, too. Build your list quick. Once you do, you can promote affiliate offers, launch new products, direct them to articles embedded with Adsense ads, banners, etc.

1) Plan out a wonderful enjoyable day for you and the ones you love. I know it's cold outside, so I planned on playing a lot with the kids, after I'm done with this email. Besides, we still have toys from Christmas that I haven't put together yet. haha
2) Read "The Ultimate Market Research Trick". I really don't want to go into to many details, but I was inspired to write this entire post just after reading the sales page.
3) After you read the guide..go back to your game plan for today and DO IT! Trust me, your online accounts aren't going anywhere.
4) Tomorrow, re-read the guide, and start implementing the strategy. I can guarantee that you're going to feel a lot more confident about your affiliate and email promotions. So confident, that you no longer be a slave to your computer screen and your online accounts.
As long as you know what your niche market wants, you'll be able to give them what they want ASAP...and not have to worry about how much money's in your Paypal account, or how many sales you pulled on Clickbank today.
Me personally, I spend no more than an hour online doing online marketing. Sometimes I spend more than an hour, but that's only because I might have a personal freelance job I have to do so I can get paid. Other than that, I check the Paypal once, the Clickbank once, my Commission Junction once, and my Aweber account once.
After I respond to a few emails from customers and partners, I then sign off, and live life. I only have one life to live...why waste half of it staring at a glaring computer screen looking for my next dollar?
Put a good plan in place, and you shouldn't have to worry about that next dollar.
Today, I wanted to talk about how to make your article marketing go a lot smoother and easier.
We all know that writing articles and submitting them to directories is an excellent not only to gain yourself some credibility, but to also gain some free traffic to any website that you want.
When you write an article, the key is to relay some very useful content to the reader. This is so that they'll have faith in you that you know what you're talking about when it comes to your niche.
One thing you should also do when you write an article, is place a resource box at the end of the article. This can simply be done by simply leaving a few empty lines after the end of your article, and in one sentence, introduce who you are...and in the next sentence, tell the reader about your website.
Now, I have a cheaper and easier way to publish articles and such...
Whenever you write an article, instead of sitting there trying to submit your article to hundreds of directories, post your article directly to your blog.
If your blog is hosted on blogger.com or wordpress.com, you know that your article will be indexed by Google and other search engines in no time.
But one other thing you want to do, is tell the world that your article exists. If your article is on a blog, simply ping your blog to the blog directories.
Three good sites that I use to ping my blogs is: * pingomatic.com * pingoat.com * feedburner.com
Actually, Feedburner is more than just a ping service; as they do more than just tell the blog directories that your blog exists. They actively promote your RSS feed for your blog to other websites to get you tons more exposure.
After pinging your blog, you'll get some traffic, but it comes with patience. You can easily get some traffic REAL quick to your blog articles by submitting them to Digg.com.
Now, if you've been following my newsletter, you'll know that I highly recommend digg.com. Why? It's free! You know I'm a cheapskate at heart :)
Also, not only can you submit your article to Digg, but you can also comment on other people's submissions. And if you're smart enough to post a 'signature' with your name and website address, you're sure to snag up some instant traffic.
Just make sure that if you do comment on other people's submissions, that you comment only on submissions that are related to your website that you are promoting. The people commenting or reading comments are into that particular niche that the submission is all about. So, give these guys an exit path (your website) to visit.
Now, back to submitting your blog posts and articles to Digg.com...
Your main goal with Digg is to get your articles/posts to the front page of their site, or on the first page of results for your niche. Usual tactics to achieve this is to simply pay for other people to do this for you.
How? Well, there are article submissions that are supposed to guarantee you to be on the first page of Digg. Or, you could easily pay people to 'Digg' your submission.
The more 'diggs' you have, the higher you rank on Digg. It reminds me of Google. The more website you have linking to you, the higher you rank. The same goes on Digg.com, except it's done by people willingly clicking on your submission and 'digging' it.
Now, you know I'd rather you not shell out anywhere in excess of $75 to some shmuck or some dope to get you on the front page of Digg. Digg is only one site, and it's not worth shelling out cash to get on their front page for a day, let alone a few hours.
Although, the benefits of having your submission on the first page can bring you some radical, life-changing results...especially for your articles and submissions.
What I've found for you today, is a cheap little $7 ebook that's all about how to get to the front page of Digg.com, without having to pay a bunch of knuckleheads to do it for you.
I will admit, the site doesn't look all that excellent, but I try not to judge a book by it's cover. Like the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr said "judge not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character". In other words, I judge a book by the information and the content that it's supposed to deliver.
Besides, I'd rather pay $7 for an ebook that teaches you what people are paying $75 or more to have done.
It's called 'The Digg Effect', and if you have a free moment on today, I'd like for you to read it. I've been experimenting with Digg the past few months, and it's resulted in tons of traffic for my blogs. That's all I submit to Digg...my blog posts.
Every niche I'm in...when I write an article...I put it on my blog, and submit it to Digg. I don't work hard to try and get on the front page...and I still get anywhere from 30-100 hits to my blog when I use them.
Now, with this cheap little guide, I'm about to get to the first page of Digg for every single blog post I make from here on out.

The reason I ask this question is because I get emails from people asking me for that 'all in one solution'...that one 'scheme to make them rich'.
The thing is...there is no all in one solution.
See, these types of opportunities are usually called 'turnkey opportunities', and I used to invest in them.
I used to frequently peruse Ebay's listings under 'Websites/Business for sale' and look for a turnkey opportunity that I could just set it and forget it.
I used to buy Adsense sites, dating sites, ebook sites, you name it, I probably bought it from Ebay. But did they work?
Well, in a nutshell...NO.
I still have ALL the scripts and website templates for these turnkey businesses, but none of the sites are up. Out of all of them, the only one I'd restart would be a dating site. I'm totally into the dating niche (even though I'm taken). I like going out there and giving lame-o's advice on how to pick up girls. I used to be the Donkey Kong of pimpin' back in the day, before I met my fiancee.
But anyway...
There are a lot of people out there trying to sell you something as being the 'end all, be all' of your financial struggles. Remember a few weeks back I talked about selling the opportunity rather than investing in it? I gave a little anecdote about the San Francisco Gold Rush of 1849...and how the only people who profited from that were the ones who sold the shovels to those money-crazed fools to dig for gold.
Well, think about that my friend...and how people are quick to sell you a turnkey opportunity instead of actually participating in it.
Which brings me to my next point.
See, there's a website out there getting a lot of online press in online world called 'The Retired Millionaire'. The idea behind this website is that there's some guy who has retired from the internet, and is leaving behind all of his secrets and tools of the trade for anyone with $47 in their pocket.
Of course, to people like you and me who have been duped by every money making product...this looks like your run-of-the-mill 'get rich quick' website, a la 'The Rich Jerk' or 'Ultimate Wealth Package'.
(Yes, I was dumb enough to buy both of those, but I don't regret it)
Here's the thing...I haven't purchased this product, because I know what it entails...
See, I'm on Todd Gross' mailing list for freemonthlygift.com, and I'm an active reader. I even had the pleasure of working with him, and having a good friendship with him online.
Well, he promoted this to his list, and got a lot of feedback from it which really caught my attention.
Supposedly...
The actual product itself looks like it was a rush job, and that there were minor problems when you tried to view a website or two. But other than that, the content is pretty good...and there's a lot to digest.
So, if you were to undertake this one, personally dedicate some time for you to read, re-read and take notes.
Also, the real 'gem' of this product is the 11,000 Private Label articles that's included. You know, with Private Label material you can legally plagiarize it, and call it your own... I love Private Label stuff, personally.
There was also a mention of some turnkey websites. Remember what I told you about turnkey websites...sell the opportunity, don't invest in it.
There's 200 turnkey websites included. I personally have 50 myself. But the key with these sites, is to do the following:
1) Get some cheap Reseller hosting from Ebay or Hostgator (tmharris.net/hostgator) 2) Sell the turnkey opportunity of your choice on ebay for cheap 3) After the sale, get them into a monthly subscription for the website via Paypal like ($3.99/month) 4) Go into your reseller's panel, create their account, and load the script onto their account, since you have their password 5) Give them their login details, and let them be in charge of buying a domain name.
You'll earn recurring income this way...Pretty cool, huh?
But, you need turnkey sites to do this with, and The Retired Millionaire has 200 of these sites ready for you to do business.

Now, this sounds like a business-in-a-box. And that's pretty much what it is. If I were to invest in it, I'd just utilize all the stuff and flip turnkey sites on ebay, and resell the Master Resale stuff.
So, what's my final say on this?
'The Retired Millionaire', is not for newbies, unless you really dedicate some time to really sit down and study the informational guide. Plus, with the added sources for you to profit from, you should come out fine if you get this.
You're probably wondering why I didn't buy it.

2) Blogging With a New Twist
One of the easiest ways to make money online is to own and properly maintain a topic-related blog. Of course, you're always told that Blogger.com and Wordpress are the two most popular formats for accomplishing this. I personally own blogs with Blogger.com and Wordpress.
But, my good friend, Garrie Wilson has just released a guide all about how to properly set up, operate and maintain a profitable Wordpress blog.
Crazy enough, in the guide she laid some details on me about why she chose Wordpress over Blogger.com, and how it could effect your income severely. Like I said, I use both Blogger.com and Wordpress...and as a matter of fact, THIS blog is hosted on Blogger.com. 3) A Hard Working Man Tries to Break into the Game
Well, the other day, I was conversing with a new face online, named Nelson Minica. I had caught a whiff of his firesale that he's got going on, and if you know me, I had to check it out. I'm the firesale king! So I gotta scope out my competition.
Since I had heard about his firesale from a friend of mine, I visited his site not as a skeptic, but rather as a friend. I ended up getting a hold of him, and found out that he's just like you...an honest family man trying to provide for his family using the internet. Being armed with the knowledge of a thousand gurus, he decided to launch his very first firesale.
The theme is based around the new year...and his offer is supposed to be something that'll make your new year's resolutions get accomplished.
The cool thing is, he's literally offering hundreds of products that come with Master Resale Rights, so that you can do as you please with them (except plagiarize). I respect his hustle, as I know what it's like to try to break into the internet marketing industry and be successful. It took me two years before I saw my first taste of success online...so I'm fully aware of the struggle.
4) Can Buying Leads and Mailing Lists Be a Good Thing?
I was asked this question by one of my subscribers, and my answer to him was YES and NO. The thing is, there are people online who purchase leads and mailing lists for the sole purpose of promoting things to them via email or direct mail. The problem is, there's a right way to do it, and a wrong way.
If you do it the wrong way, you can end up losing a ton of money, receive a ton of SPAM complaints, and even has your ISP (Internet Service Provider) strip you of all your online privileges, capabilities and services (plus, you'll get 'blacklisted' when you try to get service with someone else).
If you do it the right way, you can actually have other people pay for your leads and mailing lists, and you'll be able to profit big time. I know in one example, I knew someone who built a mailing list of thousands of people over the past year, by buying leads. The cool thing was, he used other people's money to buy these leads, and he never had to pay them back.
The idea amazed me, and it inspired me to start writing a nice, short report on the topic of what he did, and how he got other people to buy his leads, without having to pay them back.
I'm almost done with the report, and I'll be releasing it to the public next week or this weekend...depends on how I feel. But more than likely, this report will be more of a lead-in for my membership site, when it launches in late February/early March.

Happy new year to you, my reader! I know I'm all late and wrong, but yesterday, I was trying to shake a hangover while dealing with my son getting his 2nd tooth. So he's been a screaming machine with all the teething going on. Honestly, I haven't gotten any sleep at all the past few days.

Back to business...I got a lot to talk about today.
I got an email today from someone who saw my email talking about my firesale on monday to end out the year. There was something I did not realize when I went live with my sale...
I know people worldwide...so when I emailed them at noon over here in the US, in some parts it was almost 2008 for them. lol
And by the time they got back from celebrating the new year, they saw my email...and couldn't order because the sale had expired.
Now I feel like a dork... :(
So, I extended it. I sold 54 out of 100 copies anyway...so I'm putting the remaining 46 up for grabs at $7. Sorry, no more coupons my friend. lol

Oh, I also came across a good resource for those who are really interested in writing and publishing professional looking ebooks like mine. The one thing that I can't stand is when I shell out a little m.oney on an ebook, and it looks horrible and half-heartedly written.
Well, Sean Tan created a piece of software called eWriter Pro that assists you in writing and publishing your own ebooks, so that they actually look presentable.
If your ebook doesn't look very appealing to your customer or email subscriber...guess what's going to happen?
Unsubscribes and refunds!
Now, is that something you want, especially knowing that you put in so much time, effort, research and hard work on your ebook? If you have a brain, then you know the answer is NO.
So, I advise that you use this piece of software so that your ebooks are up to par...if this is the sorta thing you're into.
Remember, this is not some tired ebook on 'ebook creation'. This is an actually piece of software for Windows that does the job for you. And for the record, YES it's compatible with Windows Vista. Trust, I have to check to make sure everything I get now is compatible with Vista since I got my new laptop.

Oh, one more thing...there's a report that's currently being sold all over the internet about using Paypal as a seller and a buyer.
The report goes over how to deal with Paypal when they give you any problems and try to freeze your account.
You don't need this report. I'll give you a few quick tips and such, right now.
1) If you're expecting a ton of new sales to your website due to a website launch or because of a new JV partner, it's best to contact Paypal ahead of time, talk to customer service, and let them know that you're expecting a ton of sales today because of 'business arrangements' you made with business partners.
This way, when Paypal notices thousands of dollars popping up in your account out of the blue...they won't get suspicious and freeze your account to investigate.
2) Before you do any purchases online, check the status of the seller to make sure they are 'Verified'. Also, if possible, do a Google search on the seller to make sure there's no bad feedback about him/her.
If Paypal has been receiving multiple complaints about a particular seller, and you send them funds for a purchase, Paypal will freeze your account, because they suspect you're in cohoots with them. Weird, huh? You're the one possibly getting scammed, and Paypal freezes YOUR account.
It's something we have to deal with, my friend. So just use diligence before sending anyone money with Paypal. Basically do a 'PayPal Background Check' on them haha.
3) If you decide to promote one of these infamous $7 Offers...check out the page in its entirety before you promote it. If their page has a message at the bottom talking about "reselling it for 100% commission after you buy" or something similar to that...don't promote it.
Paypal is not a big fan of these $7 products, because 90% of the people who use the '$7 Secrets Script' use the same tired template, which states the whole 100% commission thing on it. Paypal will instantly suspect any website who has this as trying to run a M.L.M or some other type of vicious scam...and they will attempt to freeze your account's funds and activities.
I know this actually happened to Jon Leger, the guy who created the $7 Secrets Script that originally caused all the Paypal hooplah. Paypal froze his account until he cleared it all up. That was when he made a post on 7dollarforum.com and told everyone to exclude that line about 100% commissions from their sales page.
If you notice, I only promote $7 products that don't have that note at the bottom of the sales page. Trust, I'm not trying to have my Paypal account frozen for any reason...so you won't catch me messing with these sites.
